Thelen Receives 2008 Chambers Award for Excellence in Construction Law

July 7, 2008

Thelen Reid Brown Raysman & Steiner LLP

Thelen Reid Brown Raysman & Steiner LLP has been honored with the 2008 Chambers Award for Excellence in Construction Law.

Chambers also released its 2008 Client's Guide to America's Leading Lawyers for Business June 13, which again describes Thelen's Construction practice as "the pre-eminent practice of its kind in the United States." The book individually recognizes 29 of the firm's attorneys for leadership and excellence in the legal field.

"This is a significant achievement, and it stands as testimony to the breadth and depth of the expertise Thelen brings to its clients and reflects the trust they have put in members of the firm over the years," said John Heisse, Jr., chair of Thelen's Construction and Government Contracts Department.

Chambers compiles its rankings by interviewing clients and competitors and for that reason, Heisse said, the recognition is particularly noteworthy.

"I know I speak for each of the 29 Thelen attorneys recognized by Chambers when I say I fully appreciate that being individually named in Chambers wouldn't happen without the tendency of clients and opposing counsel to attribute the work of a team to the lead lawyer on the matter. Each of us, as well as the department and firm overall, is the beneficiary of a hard working and extraordinary talented group of professionals – including our fellow partners, associates, legal assistants, secretaries, librarians, and other staff members."

Speaking about his acceptance of the award on behalf of the firm, Heisse had this message for his group: "It was an honor and a privilege to accept the award on behalf of all of you. Thank you for your dedication to the firm, the team, and our clients."

Other firms nominated for the award included DLA Piper, Holland & Knight, Peckar & Abramson, and Watt Tieder.
