This Month's Question
What is most important in a job: pay, benefits, job security or working conditions?

Background on This Month's Question
Each year around Labor Day, we ask visitors what is most important to them about a job. While everyone would like “all of the above,” workers usually must make choices. They may trade higher pay for a job that is particularly interesting, has good management or involves collegial co-workers. Benefits may be important because of family health issues or a desire for security. While mobility often is high in the construction industry, some people prefer stability and security, especially in the current recession. What do you find most important in a job?
