Human Error Prevention
September 22, 2009
Chattanooga, TN
In addition to discovery and invention, human error prevention can be the greatest contributor to improved productivity, safety and quality. Persons responsible for improving productivity, safety and quality should consider attending this seminar.

The principles and practices of human error prevention are universally applicable regardless of the type of industrial, commercial or governmental enterprise and regardless of the type of function performed within the enterprise.

This seminar is truly unique and up-to-date with the latest developments in human error prevention. Nuclear Procurement Quality Requirements for Design/Construction Services and Components
September 28, 2009
Chattanooga, TN
This seminar covers dozens of contractual clauses that make quality and economic sense for the procurement of design and construction services and components for both new facilities and major modifications to existing facilities.

Although the focus in this seminar is on contractual clauses that are applicable to nuclear-powered electricity generating facilities and Department of Energy nuclear laboratories and although ANSI/ASME NQA-1 and ISO-9001 will be the basic source documents, quality and procurement engineers from other types of high technology, complex facilities (e.g., gas and oil facilities, ports, military facilities) would benefit from this seminar because the clauses can apply equally to these facilities.

For quality and economic benefit, the contractual clauses go beyond the standards noted above. The implementation of a few of these clause can have the potential for avoiding tens and hundreds of thousands of dollars in unnecessary expenditures.

The major elements of each clause will be described, and the logic supporting the technical and economic benefits of the clause will be discussed.

The Commercial Grade Item Dedication (CGID) process will be described, along with Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, it being a necessary element of CGID.

September 29, 2009
Toronto, Ontario, Canada
The Canadian Institute presents "Managing Risk at the Pre-Tender Stages of Your Construction Project."

Get critical tips and tools for keeping your project’s pre-tender risks to a minimum while maintaining your competitive edge.

The current economic crisis poses major financing challenges and emphasizes, now more than ever, the need to carry out a project efficiently while keeping risks and liabilities to a minimum. The Canadian Institute’s 2nd Annual Conference on “Managing Risk at the Pre-Tender Stages of Your Construction Project” will provide you with a forum to interact with leading construction industry professionals and gain practical knowledge by addressing the current economic climate on indentifying liability and indemnity risks and improving the management of your project’s risks at the pre-tender stages. In today’s fierce market,
this knowledge is essential for reducing losses, improving overall performance and increasing the competitive edge of the parties on both sides of the pre-tender process.
